BAN

The Ban collection was designed in 2018. It is made of solid American white Oak and Walnut. The I beam structure with slatted tabletop has a strong architectural language. The surface is an interplay of solid wood and negative space. The textural richness is not only evident in composition but comes to life when exposed to natural light.

The negative space is dimensioned at 20 millimeters, allowing fingers to reach into the gaps to lift, arrange and place various wooden surfaces. The stretchers of the wood surfaces either slot into place, or when turned 90 degrees create an elevation effect.

Given its material honesty, durability and quality, I like to see this table as timeless, as there is no reason why it could not be passed on for generations. In that sense Ban becomes representative of tables of lesser quality not consumed.
